Supporting STEM Development and Healthcare for Children in Kenya
Developing Entrepreneurship and Teamwork Skills
Our school was given the chance to partner with TEEEM, a non-profit organization that provides schools with opportunities to fundraise for other organizations around the world.
The purpose of this partnership is to teach us crucial skills for starting businesses, finding and partnering with local companies, and most importantly, empathy. In order to better develop these skills, our teachers have been intervening as little as possible, allowing us to organize the entire event.
Our class, after much deliberation, decided to support the GRACE Project. The GRACE Project is a charity that helps children in Kisii, Kenya with education, tuition, healthcare, and much more. We have started an event to donate to this charity.
Building the Foundations for a STEM Program
Part of the funds that are raised for The GRACE Project go straight to developing the STEM Lab (pictured, left). This lab will provide the students with an opportunity to learn about the different aspects of STEM. The majority of the lab will be designated for science and a computer lab.
Laying the Groundwork for Continued Academic Success
This program is focused on empowering students with the tools they need to succeed. It provides quality education to underserved communities, fosters STEM learning through hands-on experiences, offers personalized tutoring for academic improvement, and supports students financially through scholarships at various educational levels.
Promoting Lifelong Health and Wellbeing
The GRACE Health & Nutrition Center is committed to building healthier communities by providing accessible healthcare and essential resources. It includes visiting nurse services in schools, clean water and hygiene education through the WASH program, menstrual health support to combat period poverty, and SRH Talks led by professionals to promote wellness and disease prevention.
